Worked in two colors the wave stitch creates a beautiful undulating design. Here’s how to do it:
Step One:
Using color A, crochet a starting chain that is a multiple of 8 st + 4. For this example I did ch 20.
Step Two:
Skip 2 ch (counts as first sc) and crochet 1 sc in each of next 3 ch, *1dc into each of next 4ch, 1sc into each of next 4ch, rep from * to end.
Step Three:
Ch 1 (counts as first sc), skip first sc, crochet 1 sc into each of next 3 sc. *1dc into each of next 4 dc, 1sc into each of next 4 sc, rep from *. End Color A.
Step Four:
Switch to Color B. Ch 3 (counts as first dc), skip first dc, 1 dc into each of next 3 dc, *1 sc into each of next 4 sc, 1dc into each of next 4 sc, rep from *
Step Five:
Ch 3 (counts as first dc), skip first st, 1dc into each of next 3 st, *1 sc into each of next 4 st, 1dc into each of next 4 st, rep from * End Color B.
Step Six:
Switch back to Color A. Ch 1 (counts as first sc), skip first st, 1 sc into each of next 3 dc, *1 dc into each of next 4 sc, 1sc into each of next 4 dc, rep from *
Step Seven:
Ch 1 (counts as first sc), skip first st, 1 sc into each of next 3 st, *1dc into each of next 4 st, 1sc into each of next 4 st, rep from *
Step Eight:
Repeat steps 4-7 to repeat pattern to desired project length.
