Welcome to my stop on the All Koval blog tour for Imagical Seasons! The blog tour kicked off a few days ago and runs through July 22nd. I’m thrilled to be in such great company on this tour and to be able to introduce you to this unique and interesting set of crochet books.
I had planned to resume my Link Love posts this week but to be honest the only blogs I’ve been reading this week are related to Wink of A Creative Being. As you may have seen, I posted earlier this week about the shock and fear I experienced when learning about her suicide. Then I launched #MandalasForMarinke in the hopes that we can generate some positivity out of this tragedy, support each other in a creative way, honor her amazing work, raise awareness about depression and create an outlet for the many feelings that crafters who knew her online are experiencing. So this week I’ll share links to her crochet mandala patterns in place of the usual Link Love.
I love looking at rainbow-colored crochet. Back in April I rounded up 60 crochet patterns and photos inspired by the rainbow. But people are releasing new rainbow hued crochet patterns all of the time so I already have 13 new ones for you here today. Enjoy!
A little while back, one of this blog’s readers, Flo, was in the midst of working on the Sophie’s Universe crochet project and shared some of her mid-project thoughts with us in a post that I did over on About.com Crochet. She’s since completed the popular crochet project and is back with an update and some tips.
I have a lot of animals in my life. I volunteer with a friend’s dog doing animal-assisted therapy. I petsit for a few other dogs and cats. My brother runs a dog hiking business in Los Angeles, my mother works at an animal rescue in Tucson. Ann Benoot is a self-taught textile artist from Belgium who does terrific creative work with crochet art. She has been working on a beautiful series of crocheted Zentangle power animals that I find to be unique and interesting.
