“The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.”
Established knit and crochet designer Edie Eckman has released a new Christmas decorating crochet pattern book. It is called Christmas Crochet for Hearth, Home & Tree.
It includes patterns for holiday table toppers, gift wrap embellishments, garlands and more but my favorite part is the first half of the book, which consists of 9 crochet patterns for stockings. Eckman designed seven of the crochet stockings, each with its own unique contemporary pattern, and she had two additional guest pattern designers for the other stockings. They are all beautiful.
Christmas Isn’t Just Red and Green
You’ll notice that the crochet patterns in this selection aren’t all done in the traditional red and green. I love what Edie says in the quick-start guide of the book: “While Christmas red and green are always safe colors, don’t hesitate to choose modern brights or neutrals for an updated look.”

Other Crochet Designs and Designers
This crochet book has nine other crochet patterns for decorating your home for the holidays. Many of them are non-specific winter crochet patterns so you don’t have to celebrate Christmas to like these designs. Most of the crochet patterns are from Edie herself but there are also guest pattern designs from Kristin Omdahl and Andee Graves.
