About this Awesome Crochet Blog Award
As I said last year: “This award is important to me because it is one of my goals to do all that I can to use my writing to support all of the smart, creative people out there in the crochet world (and beyond). I love to see others doing that as well and that happens when a blogger takes the time and makes the effort to seek out crochet designers, authors and makers to interview them and share their work.”
Why the Winning Blog Won
Underground Crafter offers a terrific variety of interviews with crocheters (as well as knitters). Things I love include:
- The mix of newbie and established designers interviewed here
- The unique and interesting in-depth questions asked
- Great introductions about the person being interviewed
I especially want to draw attention to her now second-annual October month Hispanic Heritage Series in which she specifically interviews and celebrates Hispanic knit and crochet designers. That’s unique and special!
This Blog Previously Won …
Normally I try not to give the same blogger the same award but in this case I’ve made an exception. Underground Crafter won the best crochet interviews award in both 2011 and 2012. I can’t help it; she is consistently head and shoulders above everyone else in terms of the quality and quantity and uniqueness of her crochet interviews.
Also About this Crochet Blog
If this blog were nothing but interviews with crafters I’d read it but it’s so much more than that. Underground Crafter does a great job with book reviews (and is, in fact, a CGOA book reviewer). She also does giveaways, shares free patterns and shows us what she’s working on herself. All-in-all a well-rounded and solid crochet blog.
Special Thanks to the Blogger
Although it didn’t affect my choice of award winner in any way I just wanted to say special thanks again to the blogger for her ongoing support of my work including naming me a favorite crochet news source earlier this year.
