Sandra Eng, also known in the Instagram world as @mobiusgirl, is a crochet designer you don’t want to miss! She has a robust crochet blog, an Instagram feed full of inspiring works in progress, and has written her own book of crochet patterns and has contributed to others.
Her incredible crochet work speaks for itself, so I’ll sit back and let her work do some of the talking.
Marrakech Mandala
This mandala is Sandra’s own Marrakech Mandala pattern, and it’s inspired by Moroccan tile patterns. There’s so much texture and gorgeous color here, but every piece complements the rest of the mandala so it doesn’t look chaotic at all.
If you’d like to create this mandala yourself, you can find the pattern here.
The Marguerite Blanket
This Marguerite blanket is another of Sandra’s own designs, and I can’t stop drooling over this incredible pattern! It’s comprised mostly of a circle motif with a flower-like design and pieced together as a granny square afghan would be.
The round building blocks of this blanket make it extremely unique, and it looks very modern. I think this blanket would complement a huge variety of decor styles, and I’m tempted to make one of my own! If you’re equally drawn in by this blanket, check out the pattern here.
Archimedes Wrap
Sandra doesn’t have a pattern for this creation listed on Etsy, so we’ll have to satisfy ourselves by simply enjoying her photos.
This wrap uses a linen stitch, which gives it an appearance not unlike woven fabric. The diagonal rectangle design adds to the woven look and makes this wrap really unique.
Wedding Day Crochet Flower
On her blog, Sandra shares that she was tasked with making crochet flowers for her sister’s bridal shower. She created this pattern for that purpose, and the result is too cute! Even if you don’t have a wedding to decorate for, these flowers would brighten up any space.
If you’d like to make your own version of this beautiful crochet bouquet, check out the free pattern on Sandra’s blog.
Mandalas
Sandra’s Instagram is packed with gorgeous mandalas! They offer so much color and texture.
These mandalas are a fun and interesting project to tackle, and the result is so pretty. You can find a lot of Sandra’s mandala patterns on Ravelry, and if you find yourself in love with this particular crochet item, you can check out our list of more great mandala patterns.
Crochet Loop Stitch
All of Sandra’s crochet makes have so much beautiful use of color and texture. This work-in-progress particularly caught my eye because of the uniquely textured stitches.
The colors used here are also so beautiful! Sandra uses a lot of purples in her work, which I love.
