One of my favorite things about crochet is the way you can incorporate it into basically any other hobby or job that you might have. From creating things for camping, to making your own swimsuit and jewelry, to decorating your home – you can crochet just about anything you’d like!
This is true if you’re a cyclist too. Whether you only bring the bike out for vacations or if you commute daily to work on your bike, you can rock your crochet in so many creative and fun ways!

Yay! I’m go glad you posted about this! My dad is an avid mountain biker and I’ve been trying to come up with something to make him for Christmas. I’m totally going to give him a bike seat cover!
Awesome @Tracey – I bet he’ll love it!!
Awesome post! :) I LOVE the dress guards! That’s perfect for my little townie biking town… And no one here has any! Super cool…. (Bike cover is rockin’, too.) Oh, and I have some similar gloves I love! I never thought to see if they were crochet, though, since I bought them like 12 years ago – long before I started biking…
Might have to make my girls baskets like those since they have mountain bikes and can’t have real baskets attached.
Thanks!!
@Andi – So glad that you were able to see so many things here that you like!!
I love the crochet basket for the bike! I may try it. My husband is a cyclist and I an a cycling official. Thanks for this wonderful post! Have a great weekend. Hopefully we in the East stay safe and dry!
@Sara-Jane … Hope all is okay there this weekend. Thanks for the great positive feedback on the post!
My daughter wants a seat cover. So I’m slowly working toward making one for her. And she has yarn bombed her bike. But I’ve never taken a photo of it. But it’s pretty cool. Just generally crocheted pieces for various places on it. No rhyme or reason. I love the guards, but she doesn’t have a fender to attach them to, or I’d totally make her those.
@Keri – Would love to see photos of the how she’s yarnbombed her bike! How fun.
Ohh, I love this post, as I am a crochet-loving cyclist! I happen to like the gloves the most–I would definitely use them. Also, hats that fit under the helmet to cover the ears when it’s cold (I’m knitting one right now, but I’d love a crochet one, too!).
@Misty – Under-helmet-hats are a great idea!
As a seasonal cyclist (not in the cold or snow) I’d have to say that the only thing you haven’t covered is some sort of doohickey for the water bottle holder. I would most likely crochet the basket (ADORABLE) or the bike seat!
OMG this is great! I crocheted one-side bike panniers but these are great! I can see what will my next project be :D
