30 Crochet Items for Bicyclists: Creative DIY Ideas
by Hannah Ege
One of my favorite things about crochet is the way you can incorporate it into basically any other hobby or job that you might have. From creating things for camping, to making your own swimsuit and jewelry, to decorating your home – you can crochet just about anything you’d like!
This is true if you’re a cyclist too. Whether you only bring the bike out for vacations or if you commute daily to work on your bike, you can rock your crochet in so many creative and fun ways!
Wearables for Cyclists
With so much protective wear that should be worn for safety, there's plenty you can make for yourself! We have ten ideas you can make or buy for yourself or the cyclists in your life.
If you're a cyclist who enjoys braving colder weather, then a handmade ski mask is the perfect accessory for your winter riding days. With cozy warm yarn, this full-face mask will help you stay heated during the chilly rides.
With the classic biker glove look, these fingerless mitts keep the palm of your hand protected with soft leather, while having a beautiful crochet design that covers the back of your hand. You could of course try your own hand at making them if you feel competent with working leather and crochet together.
Of course there are patterns you can try yourself, like this one from CrazeCrochetCo over on Etsy. Although it may not be as stable as the bucket from above, but certainly can work and be something you boast of!
If you've ever participated in a Yarn Bombing, then you'll certainly want to take a look at this realistic looking bike lock. What a fun way to celebrate a biker you may know in the community or even your local bike shop!
Here's another blanket pattern, but for those who love mountain biking. With mountain peaks and a bicycle outline being done in filet stitch, this makes for such a cozy gift when it's too cold to ride.
