Back in March I posted 25 lists of 25 things to inspire crocheters. Since then I’ve been posting my lists of 25 things. For example, last week I posted my 25 favorite crochet quotes. One of the items on the list is to collect 25 patterns of things that you want to crochet. I recently decided that I want to participate in Come Blog-a-long over on Ravelry (where we all do posts on the things that we want to work on crocheting/knitting and then we blog about the status of those projects weekly). I decided to combine my 25 patterns with my Blog-a-long participation.
I crochet daily and have several product lines that I’m working on but there’s a specific project that I need to start tackling and I think blog-along will help me with the accountability for that. This year I am going to give my Christmas presents in crocheted bags instead of in wrapping paper. I am terrible at wrapping presents so they never look good anyway. Plus that means each gift comes with the added gift of a handmade crochet bag that can be re-used. So if I’m going to do that then I need to start working on the bags.
Here are the 25 patterns I’m going to use for my crochet Christmas bags (although I may do variations on some of the patterns):
1. Little Acorn Bag
2. Reusable Crochet Gift Bag
3. Christmas Crochet Tote
4. Big Easy Bag
5. FutureGirlCraft’s Starling Handbag
6. ValliesKids Get Your Granny on Bag
7. Granny’s Valentine Bag
8. Phazelia’s Laptop Case
9. Bobble Wrap Laptop Sleeve
10. Pretty E-Reader Case
11. CrochetSpot’s Easy Wine Bottle Cover
12. DIY Network’s Wine Bottle Cozy
13. Caron’s Simply Soft Crochet Gift Bags
14. Crocheted Drawstring Bag
15. Kids’ Rainbow Treasure Bag
16. Whimsical Castle Bag
17. Vintage Style Drawstring Bag
18. Crocheted Swirling Bag
19. Ruffled Crochet Bag
20. Wine Bottle Gift Bag
21.Crochet Heart Purse
22. Chevron Crochet Bag
23. Laptop Cardigan Sleeve
24. Sweet Soap or Sachet Bags
25. That Pouch Thing
I’ll be working on getting these done this year but Blog-along actually goes until a year from now. If I’m successful with it and enjoying it I may make a new set of goals halfway through. Wish me luck! UPDATE: You can see the final post about what I did and didn’t make here.
I encourage you to make your own inspiring list of patterns you want to complete. Maybe you’ll finish them all and maybe you won’t but it will certainly jumpstart some crocheting action that you’ve been putting off!
