I'm busy working on my Christmas chaos blanket as part of a crochet along with a friend from work. I'm also making some little Amami Italian foods, a mass stitch in a square blanket, the honey milk throw, and a granny ripple blanket. With Christmas coming before we know it, I need to start on some Christmas projects also.

I'm really enjoying the Christmas chaos blanket. It has a nice variety of colors and stitches that keep me interested.

Crochet ADHD Is Real
In the 21 years that I've been crocheting regularly, I've started and stopped more projects than I can count. I like to joke and say I have crochet ADHD. Blankets, clothing, pillows, hats, baby items- you name it, I've started it and quit it.
I always have great intentions when I start, but sometimes my eye wanders when it comes to crochet. I'll find a different pattern, put down the project I'm working on, and start a new one.
Two Blankets Down Before the Honey Milk Throw
My latest unfinished project is a wedding blanket for my son, who got married in June. It is now September, and I still haven't finished it. I originally started making a wedding ring crochet blanket, but life got busy; I put it down and lost interest. Then I started another blanket; I can't remember the pattern name, and I got bored with that one too.
I recently started the honey milk throw for them, and I'm making myself finish it. Mark my words, I will finish it by the end of this year!

Why the Chaos Blanket Actually Works For Me
I think my biggest problem is getting bored. I need a variety of colors and stitches to keep me interested. I do well with variegated yarn, striped yarn, or projects with frequent color changes. That's why the chaos blanket suits me so well.
Boxes of UFOs In My Craft Room
I've gone back and rescued a few projects here and there, but it's very rare. Most of the time they end up in my craft room. Years later, I'll find them and wonder what row I was on, what pattern it was, and what yarn I was using, because I don't always keep the best notes. I'm trying to get better about being organized.
Boring Yarn And Pinterest FOMO Kill My Focus
If a project uses boring colored yarn or has a complicated stitch pattern that requires a lot of concentration, I tend to lose interest and want to move on to something new. I do better with shorter, smaller projects, such as granny squares, purses, bags, and other little things.
It also doesn't help when I get on Pinterest and browse new patterns because I always get FOMO. That's why I started the Christmas chaos blanket.
Finish It If You Can, But Don't Suffer
If any of you reading this have a half-finished blanket right now that you're thinking about quitting, don't be like me; stick with it if you can. You can do this.
But if it's something you truly aren't enjoying, find something else to make. This craft should bring you joy. If it's making you miserable, move on to something you'll enjoy.
