31 Dias de Crochet brindes Não acabou até que acabou e o mês ainda não terminou.. Today we’ve got three handmade crochet items that will all go to one lucky winner. The items come from Aprile of A mão firme who hosted a giveaway here earlier this month as well. Hoje além da doação eu também tenho uma pequena entrevista com Aprile assim podemos aprender mais sobre ela!
CROCHETBLOGGER: Today we’re giving away three of your handmade items (Lotus Flower Cuff, Angel Wings Necklace and Mary Jane Slippers). Can you tell us a little bit more about each of them?
The Lotus Flower Cuff is one of just a couple items that I make using crochet cotton (the superfine cotton thread). I found the pattern on the creativeyarn blog. She has some amazing knit and crochet patterns available on her blog.
The Angel Wings Necklace is the first crochet jewelry pattern that I worked up. I fell in love with the simplicity of it. This light blue necklace is crocheted with a light blue crochet cotton. I found the pattern for it on Ponto de crochê (another wonderful crochet blog).
The Mary Jane Slippers are just a comfy accessory. I love to wear mine around the house and they are great to take on vacation to use in the hotel room. The pattern for the slippers I found on GoodKnits.
CROCHETBLOGGER: Looks like you’ve got a great array of crochet pattern sources! I love CrochetSpot but didn’t know the other two so you’ve introduced me to some new stuff. Ok, on to the next question … You’ve had your shop on Etsy for about a year now. How has that experience been for you?
It has definitely been a learning experience! When I first started my shop I was under the impression that once I posted my items the sales would just start rolling in (probably just like every Etsy newbie). It took me a while to learn about how every aspect of your shop can make a difference and that advertising is a must. The Etsy community has helped me a lot and I have made a lot of valuable crafty friends.
CROCHETBLOGGER: You mention on your blog that your daughter Abby has inspired your crochet work. What do you hope that you are teaching her by being a handcrafting blogging mom?
Being a handcrafting bloggy mom comes second to being a mother to my daughter. Com isso em mente … I want her to learn and appreciate the value of all handmade items, not only crocheted pieces. She is growing up in a world where finding handmade items are practically limited to online shops and craft fairs. I hope that once she is old enough that she will want to learn a craft of her own so that she can understand the value and joy of creating something with her hands.
CROCHETBLOGGER: Acho que é fantástico! What crafty goals do you have for 2012?
My goal is to keep doing what I am doing. I would like to concentrate on more intricate patterns and learning new stitches.
CROCHETBLOGGER: What do you want people to know about crochet?
Crocheting is fun and rewarding. There is no standard and no limit to what you can create. The crocheting community is friendly and there is always someone there to lend a helping hand!
CROCHETBLOGGER: Eu definitivamente concordo. This is such a generous community. Falando nisso, now it’s time for our giveaway …
