I have to admit that I smiled a little bit when I saw this Post-Trib news article about a teenager who mugged an old lady whose bag only held crochet. Not that there’s anything funny about old women getting mugged but I would’ve loved to see the expression on the kid’s face when he opened up her bag and the only thing inside was crochet.

Here’s the story:

There was a seventy-two-year old woman waiting outside of a building at about nine in the morning when she was approached by a nineteen-year old mugger. He was wearing a bandana over his face and grabbed the handbag, probably thinking he could easily get it away from this woman. No entanto, she actually tried to fight for her purse, holding on until the teen pulled her to the ground.

The teen did get away from her with the purse. The woman reported him to the police with a full description and was then taken to the local hospital where she was treated for some minor scrapes and bruises. The teen was found and identified by the woman. He did not have her bag on him, admitting that he tossed it in the trash when he realized that there was only crochet inside.

Mais uma vez, it’s not that I think it’s funny that this woman got mugged but I smile a little bit to think that the kid probably thought he was getting something good since the woman was hanging on to that purse. E é claro, it was something good – crochê!!
