  2. This is a great crochet site. I learned to crochet at the age of 9 and I’m 60 Ahora. I crocheted a lot during the 60’s and 70’s. My mother and her aunt used to have bazaars and made crocheted dolls for bathroom tissue covers, pot holders and edgings on towels and kitchen towel toppers. I learned through them, then in my 20’s I bought a bookI taught myself to Crochetand learned the language and really took off making items by the patterns. Pero, I’m not proficient by no means, there’s so much I could learn, but I’m a lazy crocheter, because if it gets complicated I put it down. I like mindless crocheting so I do a lot of scarves, chales, hats and ponchos. I don’t like to make blankets or afghans. Thanks for being out here promoting crocheting. I get so tire of the attitudes of knitters as if crochet is not acceptible. It’s a wonderful, beautiful fiber artform, and is fit for anything you want from a wedding dress to a pair of shoes. It can be ultra fancy and lacy even when using wire. I love crochet as I love all fiber arts. And just so you know I learned to knit at the same age. And I still knit too. Pero aún así, I haven’t made anything but scarves, ponchos and shawls. Sewing is where I really do a lot. I’ve made clothes, bolsas, quilts and many things sewing. Pero de nuevo, thanks for the site and all the crochet information.

Thanks Rodezzy. I think it’s okay to be a lazy crocheter. I’m a lazy crocheter in many ways, también – not all the time but a lot of the time. I think the mindless kind of crochet is great because it induces an almost meditative sense of calm and relaxation.

  3. Would you share the pattern for the monochrome silver/grey beret that you posted on Pinterest?
