It seems the older I get, the busier I get. I thought it was supposed to be the opposite.

My normal week starts on Monday. I get up at 5 AM to work my day job. I work from home and start working at 5:30 AM. I work until 2 PM. Most days, I dog-sit my son's husky, Freya, while they are at work, so I have to take her out for a few walks each day. I don't have a yard; I live in a condo.
After I'm done with work, I start my side job, filming videos, and that keeps me occupied until dinner time. Then I make a quick dinner for myself and edit videos. I'm lucky if I have time to crochet in the evening.
I really feel the need to crochet. It helps me unwind and relax, and I can think about my day. It's kind of like meditation for me.
On the weekends, I am off from my day job, but I catch up on housework, film some more videos, edit videos, sometimes babysit my grandkids, and try to get shopping done. I usually have some time to crochet.
Every once in a blue moon, I have nothing going on, and I'll crochet most of the weekend. That is when I'm at my happiest.
Listening to Audiobooks While I Crochet
I like to turn on the TV and watch it while I'm crocheting. Or should I say, listen to the TV? I will look up occasionally. I don't like to watch TV when I have something I need to count a lot or really concentrate on. But most patterns are easy to remember, so the TV doesn't bother me.

Sometimes I'll turn on a good audiobook or podcast and listen to it while I crochet. There is nothing better than listening to a good audiobook while crocheting.

Eight Projects and Crafting ADHD
I usually have quite a few projects going on at a time. I jokingly say I have crafting ADHD, so I always have many things to focus on. Right now, I have eight projects that I'm working on, and it's making me feel frazzled. Sometimes it's hard to decide which project to work on.
I try to work on the one with the earliest deadline. Sometimes, if I've had a bad day, I'll choose the one that I feel like working on. I love all of my projects and want to finish them all. There just aren't enough hours in the day.
Ten Hours a Week If It Is a Good Week
Speaking of hours, I would say during the week I have maybe an hour a day to crochet, give or take a few, and on the weekends, maybe four or five. So I would say I crochet maybe 10 hours a week in a good week.
Skipping Social Plans to Stay Home and Crochet
If I don't get much crochet time in, I start to get nervous and unsettled. Crochet has become such a habit to me that I crave it. Sometimes I'll ignore my responsibilities in order to take care of myself and take time to crochet. I consider it self-care.
I've even given up on some social occasions so that I can crochet, and no, I didn't miss it. Sometimes I would rather just stay home and crochet.
Coming Back to It Every Time
There have been stretches where I have not been able to crochet much when life gets too busy, but I always come back to crochet and love it. It keeps me sane.
