Something Special
This week was the 6th annual Knit and Crochet Blog Week hosted by @Eskimimi. I didn’t participate this year. (To be honest, I didn’t realize it was coming up until it was here!) But there were a lot of great posts all week long and it’s always fun to see what people share in this creative project. You can look for hashtag #KCBW6 to see what was shared.
Crochet Quote
“It has been noted that if you want to be happier, try making your life a little harder. Seriously! Use a push mower. Bake your own bread. Knit or crochet a scarf. Do things by hand, and your brain will thank you. … “Hooking” is meaningful, rewarding, productive, fulfilling and helps you stay connected.” – JoAnn James

Crochet News and Info
“Grandma Drees” and her crew knit and crochet teddy bears for children worldwide who are affected by HIV/AIDS through the Mother Bear Project.
I was happy to see Jocelynn Brown’s Detroit news article about Dr. Charles Huebner, a rheumatalogist who has been learning to both knit and crochet and says, “Things like knitting and crocheting are so important for our overall mental health. There’s a connection between the mind and body.” He “finds both to be much-needed stress relievers. “I can see I definitely want to continue doing this for a lot of reasons. It’s creative, relaxing and it’s easy” and wants to encourage both of his sons to try the crafts.
