The world of craft publishing is in an exciting time. There are many publishers, both small and large, releasing a variety of different books in various niches of crochet. I can’t even begin to count how many new crochet books are expected to be released in 2015. Some are from my favorite authors and but a lot of them are from new folks. Here are the 2015 crochet books I’m most excited to see when they are released this year.

Craft Heals

The book I’m most excited to see coming out this year is Lee Gant’s Love in Every Stitch: Stories of Knitting and Healing. Although its emphasis is knitting, there is at least one story about a “suicidal teenager who crochets through pregnancy”. When I did the research for Crochet Saved My Life there were almost no books out there on this topic. I’m happy to see another one hitting the shelves.

I thought I’d start the list with my top five favorites, followed by some other crochet books that look great in various categories. The number one pick is the one shown above so here are the other top four:

Crochet Mandalas by Marinke Slump (who incidentally is one of the women who shared her story about crocheting to heal in my book Crochet Saved My Life). It’s co-authored with Anita Mundt.

Boho Crochet: 30 Hip and Happy Projects. I don’t know the author on this one but it’s published by Martingale, which published several books I’ve reviewed recently including Bathtime Buddies crochet and Cozy Toes for Baby.

Crochet Inspired by Literature

This year we are going to see several books featuring crochet designs inspired by fairy tales, poetry and other writing, starting with Poetic Crochet: 20 Shawls Inspired by Classic Poems by Sara Kay Hartmann, published by Interweave Press.
