awesome crochet blog awards

Welcome to the 2014 Awesome Crochet Blog Awards.

Today’s award is for:

Best Personal Life Posts on a Crochet Blog

And it goes to:

Jessie at Home

About This Award

Learn more about what these awards are here. This specific award is for the best personal life posts on a crochet blog. In other words, it’s for those people who don’t just share their own crochet patterns or links to craft inspiration but also let us know what is happening in their own lives. This is great because each person has a unique life, a unique voice, and in sharing that they encourage us to find and celebrate our own uniqueness. Plus it’s just fun to get to know them!

About The Winner

jessie at home

The winner of this award is Jessie Rayot of Jessie at Home. She is a SAHM, artist and a knit and crochet designer. She shares her patterns on her website, sells patterns through Craftsy, Etsy and Ravelry, and uses her blog to provide readers with tons of interesting information and inspiration about crochet and knitting. Book reviews, pattern roundups and lifestyle shares are just a few of the things that I enjoy on her blog.

She shares about her crochet patterns:

“Jessie At Home features fun and creative knit and crochet patterns; many of which include variations so that each item you create can be personalized and one of a kind. Each pattern is full of color pictures to help you along in your journey. A line drawing is also included at the end of many patterns, which can be printed out as many times as you need to plan your colors. There are also videos with some patterns to help with steps that are more advanced or just are more easily explained in video; however the full instructions are written in each pattern, so the photos and videos are just extra help.”

Why The Winner Won

crochet blog

Here are some of the reasons that I selected this blogger for this crochet award:

  • She has a well-rounded knit and crochet blog that features free patterns, tutorials and lots of inspiration. The life updates are in addition to the resources that she offers.
  • She’s super personable. I feel like it’s really easy to get to know Jessie through her blog. She shares what she’s doing with her family in a way that makes you feel like you’re catching up with her over a cup of tea.
  • There are lots of photos so we can see everything that she’s up to in a visual way to go along with her storytelling.

Other Categories I Could Have Chosen

Each person is only awarded one award each year (and likewise, each award only goes to one person with a few exceptions) but of course each amazing blogger often does many things well. Some of the other categories that I easily could have given this blogger an award for include:

  • Best Crochet Patterns
  • Best Crochet Pattern Roundups
  • Best Bicraftual Blog (knit and crochet)
