I recently discovered the beautiful world of fashion by CeliaB. She works with bold prints and colors. Her designs are fun and funky but wearable. She doesn’t work entirely crochet but she has incorporated crochet into her collections and I love the way she does it. Her work reminds me a little bit of what crochet fashion designer Katie Jones does.
Who is Crochet / Fashion Designer CeliaB?
Celia Bernardo is a Spanish fashion designer whose designs are influenced by her world travel “from stripes seen in Rajasthan to batiks from Indonesia”. She loves bright colors and traditional prints. She’s worked in advertising, PR and jewelry designs in collaboration with many big brand names. “But her love of travel and the weird and wonderful possibilities of color, wool and contradiction meant that the fast fashion industry couldn’t hold on to her forever.” She launched her own brand in 2010, the CeliaB brand that you see in this post.
Fuzzy / Winter Collection
My favorite collection of all of the ones she shows on her site is the “fuzzy winter” collection. It incorporates a lot of crochet, not only in the fashion design but also in the styling of the photo backgrounds. Plus we see a little “mommy and me crochet” fashion.
Le Frick C’Est Chic
This is actually the collection that led me to discover CeliaB, after I saw an online news article about it. This full collection has a variety of different pieces with lots of colors, fabrics and silhouettes. Here are the pieces that also incorporate crochet; I especially love the two granny square pieces:
This collection didn’t include as much crochet but there were a few lovely pieces:
I’m a huge fan of crochet, crochet-inspired and lace shoes so I loved seeing that CeliaB has these too:
