For today’s 2013 Awesome Crochet Blogger Awards I’d like to give an award for the best reinvention of a craft blog this year. The award winner is CraftyPod.

About this Awesome Crochet Blog Award

I’ve been blogging for almost ten years now in different places and one thing I know for sure is that it’s hard to keep the same blog going year after year. Sometimes the blog just doesn’t work anywhere – for you, for your business, for the niche you’re in, for many reasons. A lot of blogs close up shop as a result and that can be really sad for regular readers. It’s so inspiring, then, to see blogs that go through tough transitions and reinvent themselves in ways that keep true to their own authenticity while allowing for personal growth. That’s worth celebrating!

Why the Winning Blog Won

CraftyPod had to make the tough decision this year to stop producing her popular craft podcast, a regular feature of her craft blog. I know that could not have been an easy decision to make and she went through some other changes on the blog as a result of the shifting that happened around that time. What emerged was an even stronger craft blog celebrating varied aspects of the craft business and continuing to show support for other crafters around the web. She participates in a cool themed link love project where each week she shares what she loves about five blogs. She themes her own posts monthly; September was creative happiness. She does great inspirational craft book reviews. She continues to share beautiful image-only interviews. She inspires.

This Blog Previously Won …

I’ve always been impressed with the craft blogging knowledge and experience showcased here and this blog also won my 2012 Awesome Crochet Blog Award for Best Craft Business Blog.

Special Thanks

Although it didn’t affect my choice of winning award in anyway I just want to thank CraftyPod for all of the support of my own work over time including doing a podcast and image-only interview of me last year.

San Francisco based and crochet-obsessed writer, dreamer and creative spirit!
