Lately I’ve been loving following the French crochet blog of Julie Adore. She seems to live in a magical world of craft, playfulness and vibrant color and it’s wonderful to live vicariously through the positivity of her blog. It’s written in French, but you can use Google Translate to get the English version or simply look at the beautiful photos of her crochet and other craft work!
About Julie Adore
Here’s what I said the first time I wrote about this blog:
“Julie Adore is a stimulating craft blog filled with tutorials and ideas. This blogger shares a lot about her life and activities so we can really get to know her through her blog (although I have to use Google Translate to understand it all!) You’ll find crochet here amidst cooking, fabric arts and other domestic goodness.”
In her Blogger bio she shares that she loves making people smile with the things that she makes, which I think is obvious from the joyfulness of her items. Everything she makes is bold in color, has a sense of cheer and is infused with childlike wonder. She mentions that she loves reinventing the world with just a hook or pencil and you can see this in the things that she makes!
Examples of Julie’s Crochet
Here are some samples of my favorite crocheted items from the Julie Adore blog:
A Crochet Tutorial or Two
You can find a tab on Julie Adore’s blog that says tutorials (or Tutos if you’re on the French page) and there you will find photo-rich ideas for crafting of your own. There are many different craft tutorials represented here including a couple in crochet/ yarn work. I like:
The Granny Square Yarn Basket Tutorial
Yarn Tassel Earrings; what a great idea for leftover yarn scraps!
Thanks to the maker for allowing me to share these photos! Visit her blog or check her out on Facebook.
