I always love peeking ahead at what Amazon’s going to have to offer in the months to come. Can you believe that there are already some crochet titles there that are slated for a 2013 release? Time sure flies! Here are seven titles to look forward to next year:

1. Lacework for Adventurous Crocheters

The full title of this upcoming book by Margaret Hubert is Lacework for Adventurous Crocheters: Master Irish, Freeform, Broomstick, Hairpin, and Bruges Lace Crochet through Easy Step-by-step Instruction and Fun Projects. I think that about sums up what it’s all about! Having just learned broomstick lace myself, I think this is one that I’m going to want to get. It’s set for a January 1, 2013 release.

2. The Finer Edge: Crocheted Trims, Motifs & Borders

Kristin Omdahl’s new book, due out January 8, 2013, is called The Finer Edge: Crocheted Trims, Motifs & Borders. I feel like no crochet library is complete without at least one book of motifs and one book of edges and this book promises to cover both of those bases!

3. The New Tunisian Crochet

The full title of this new book by Dora Ohrenstein is The New Tunisian Crochet: Contemporary Designs for Time-Honored Traditions. Tunisian crochet is really popular right now so it makes sense to have a whole book devoted to the topic. It’s due out February 26, 2013.

4. Blueprint Crochet Sweaters

Robyn Chachula, known as @crochetbyfaye, has a new book coming out March 5, 2013 that’s called Blueprint Crochet Sweaters: Techniques for Custom Construction. I’m curious to see how this one compares to Dora Ohrentein’s book on the same topic – Custom Crocheted Sweaters. Both designers are top notch!

5. 50 Sunflowers to Knit, Crochet and Felt

Kristin Nicholas has a new book coming out mid-March called 50 Sunflowers to Knit, Crochet & Felt: Patterns and Projects Packed with Lush and Vibrant Color That You Will Love to Make. A whole book devoted to crafted sunflowers – what a great niche topic!

6. 100 Colorful Granny Squares to Crochet

This upcoming book by Leonie Morgan looks like it could be the quintessential new book for crochet squares. The full title is 100 Colorful Granny Squares to Crochet: Dozens of Mix and Match Combos and Fabulous Projects (Knit & Crochet). The expected release date is March 19, 2013.

7. Crochet One-Skein Wonders

How often do you have just one skein of a great yarn? I know it happens to me all of the time. That’s why I’m excited about the late March release date of Crochet One-Skein Wonders: 101 Creative Projects by Judith Durant and Edie Eckman

You can’t get any of these crochet books now, but you can bookmark / pre-order them, and in the meantime you can get my book – Crochet Saved My Life!

Thanks for adding my new book to your list. That isn’t the cover that will be on it. Still working on it but I am excited about adding crochet to my work. Congrats on your new book too. Best, Kristin

Good to know that’s not the cover. I’m sure whatever you come up with is going to be great!
