BROWSE OUR IN HOUSE, HAND DYED YARN

Today’s crochet quote comes from the introduction to Custom Crocheted Sweaters, the book by Dora Ohrenstein that I reviewed and offered for giveaway earlier today.

“Many crafters see their hobby as something they do for relaxation and fun. There comes a point, however, when it’s obvious that to go to the next level, you have to get a little more serious about your craft.”

In this case, Dora was talking about gaining the skills necessary to create well-fitting crochet sweaters. What types of crochet projects do you want to do that require learning some new skills?

I am now working on a skirt that is constantly changing and I have a sweater I’m dying to get back to. Having to constantly rework these two projects only to come up with a technique I later find is one used to make something like whats in my head makes me know I am definitely in need of more skills.

@i heart handicrafts At least you have the patience to rework it to the way that you want it to be. I’ll just finish something the way it is and try again with something else. :)
