A library in the UK has a temporary exhibit on display of a crocheted / knitted garden. It is believed that it is the largest display of its kind ever created according to the Bournemouth Echo.

More than fifteen hundred people came together to create the crochet and knit items that make up this garden. These people came from more than forty different organizations ranging from Brownies to universities (and of course including crochet and knitting groups).

The items they created don’t just include flowers but everything from a vegetable patch to gnomes and ponds. If there is a possibility that a garden might have something in it then this garden has a crocheted or knitted version of it. The creative project even includes a man reading a novel and working on his barbecue in the garden.

This garden is now on temporary display at the Bournemouth Library in the UK. It then moves on to the Kinson Library. The organizer of the project is looking for other venues around the UK that will host additional legs of the tour of this cool piece of crochet art.

  1. How awesome is that? I’d love to be able to see it. Why don’t we (US) do something like that?

@Kat – I’d love to see it in person as well! There’s actually a smaller project going on here that’s not quite the same but has some similarities … It’s called Forest, For The Trees – http://www.facebook.com/pages/Forest-for-the-Trees/178741438835651?sk=info

  2. Wow, this is such a cool idea! I would love to go see a knit/crochet garden!
