Abi got the opportunity to see Shauna’s crochet lions in person and was kind enough to share some of her photos with me and my readers.
Just a quick share to say that if you haven’t seen this interview by Shauna Richardson, it’s worth a look. It’s all about the huge crochet lions she created for The Olympics. You can learn fun things like that she likes to use mohair yarn to make her crochetdermy animals look more realistic but that it was tough for this project that required her to source wool locally.
This exhibit will feature 100 different items in order to showcase all of the different ways of “making” things. I think it’s great that crochet is being featured alongside more modern crafts such as BioImplant embroidery and 3D printing.
Shauna Richardson is an award winning crochet artist who specializes in the art of crochetdermy.
