I’ve written many times about the benefits of crochet in prisons. Today I thought I’d highlight the way that one specific program works.
Under a free microcredit program, women gather weekly to crochet, sew and make jewelry, purses and other items that they can sell personally or through boutiques.
I thought I would explore the crochet programs in prisons in one state to show the range of different programs that exist. I chose the state of Ohio. Here are the prison crochet programs I found:
