It’s always fun to see what kind of crochet makes it onto the runway. Sometimes it even inspires our own (lower-budget) couture designs.
It’s that time of year, the time for looking back and checking out all of the amazing things that we’ve seen in crochet all throughout the year. So far we’ve looked at crochet art in 2015 and 2015 crochet books. Today let’s look at crochet fashion from this year.
It’s currently Paris Fashion Week, which follows on the heels of Milan Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week. This seems like the perfect time to look at recent high fashion crochet, including fashion items that walked the runways at these various events.
Back in October I shared the work of 5 designers who put crochet into their Spring ’15 runway shows (Givenchy, Ryan Lo, Sibling, Pucci and and Proenza Schouler). But spring was so far away then and it’s getting closer now so I thought we could use some more inspiration. Here are more crochet looks from the Spring ’15 runways and designer collections.
Katie Jones, a knitwear designer with a crochet collection that I adore. I learned about her from a post on @thegoodwardrobe about London Fashion Week.
I’ve been looking through the photos on the fashion blogs from the Spring/Summer 2015 runway shows, with an eye out for crochet. Here’s what I spotted that I think is crochet (although it’s always hard to tell in just the photos).
I think the last time I saw this kind of retro-inspired designer crochet was several years ago when Christopher Kane and House of Holland had their granny square shows.
