At the beginning of the year I announced that I was going to start a charity crochet project with the goal of donating handmade crochet items to a different organization each month during every month this year. For March, I intended to create blankets to donate to Binky Patrol. Where the heck did March go?!
March Donor Organization
I chose March’s donor to be Binky Patrol, an organization that accepts handmade blankets of various sizes for children eighteen and under who have been through some type of trauma.
What My Plans Were
My goal was to make three blankets for donation but I committed to making at least one.
What Ended Up Happening
Como eu disse, where the heck did March go?! I haven’t actually made a blanket to donate to this organization, which bums me out a little because I really wanted to make one. Porém, I do at least have something to donate. I have been doing a lot of thrift store hunting for crochet items lately and one of the items I had picked up is a blanket.
It’s a simple blue crochet blanket with a golden stripe. Although it’s nothing fancy, it is handmade and it is nice and in good condition. I think it’s much better for this to go to Binky Patrol than to hang out waiting for repurposing in my own home. So I’m going to give it up as a donation to Binky Patrol.
And if I get really active with my crochet in this final week of the month then maybe I’ll send along a blanket of my own for donation, também.
Join Me!
If you donated a handmade item to charity this month, blog about it and then leave a link to your post in the comments to let everyone know!
