I mentioned in my most recent “een jaar geleden op de blog” Roundup dat vorig jaar ik mijn eerste lijst van compileerde 25 garens en haak apps. Since then a couple of crochet blogs have gotten apps, Rood hart released a new version of its app and Haak wellust launched an Android app. I just saw in the new issue of Binnen haak (which Crochet Concupiscence had a cameo in!) that there’s a fairly new crochet app from Interweave called Handige haak.
About Crochet Handy
Crochet Handy is the app version of writer Ann Budd’s “Crocheter’s Handy Guide to Yarn Requirements (Interweave)”. The purpose of this app is to help you figure out exactly how much yarn you need for any project, so that you don’t leave the store with too little but don’t waste your money on too much. This app is available from the iTunes store at a price of 99 cent.
From the iTunes Description
“This visual tool explores the yardage requirements for eight of the most popular crocheted items: basic caps, sjaals, bags, Afghanen, Poncho 's, baby sweaters, rokken, and tops. Crochet Handy shows all sizes ranging from baby or toddler to large adult, using five standard yarn weights—from fingering to bulky.”
About Interweave Apps
I’ve never used one of Interweave’s apps so I can’t vouch for it but they say that they offer 24 hour customer service to answer any questions you have if you encounter a problem with their apps including the Crochet Handy app.
Do you use crochet and yarn apps? I actually don’t typically use them. Echter, I want to start reviewing them here on the blog so in the months to come I’ll be downloading and using some of them on my iPod.
