I received a mixed yarn lot in the mail awhile back and it included the soft yellow no-name yarn that you see in this item here. Actually I think the white yarn came from that yarn lot as well although I always keep lots of black and white yarn around so it may have come from elsewhere. Comunque, the yellow color is not something I would ever have picked out for myself but I actually kind of love the yarn.
I have been on a big cowl making kick lately so that is what I decided to do with this yarn … at first. For this one I just did a simple rectangle but then I joined it together using a small shell stitch and it created this really cool texture on the front of the piece. It does look cute as a cowl.
Tuttavia, the longer I have it sitting on my dresser, the more I’ve been thinking about adding to it. It is sized to where it would fit across my bust. Having just finished my first crochet dress design for myself I’m eager to make a new dress. I’ve been thinking about adding straps to the top of this and a skirt to the bottom and turning it into a dress. I’m thinking that using a turquoise or even a pink would make this a great springtime dress in colors I’d like but wouldn’t normally pick out.
But I haven’t completely decided if this is piece is a finished cowl or if it’s actually a dress in progress. Cosa ne pensi?
