I mentioned in passing in a recent link love roundup that By Hand magazine had included an article of mine in their debut issue. This is a great new magazine, quoique, so I wanted to make sure to tell you a little bit more about it.
Par le magazine à la main
By Hand Magazine is a brand new magazine, launched thanks to crowdsourced funding, celebrating every aspect of a handmade way of life. It is a print magazine that is also available in digital format. In the opening issue’s letter the editor talks about the magic of being able to make something out of nothing, the magic we experience when we choose to make things by hand instead of buying finished products. The magazine features articles and tutorials for all types of crafts, cooking, gardening, DIY building and more. I was really honored that they included my article about the health benefits of crafting in their debut issue, as this is something I’m really proud to be a part of. By Hand Magazine is a quarterly magazine; the next issue is set for Spring 2013.
By Hand T-Shirts and Posters
In addition to the magazine, By Hand has created some fun limited edition T-shirts and posters for people who want to proclaim to the world that they are part of the handmade revolution. Bien sûr, it’s the crochet we’re interested in here:
But they do have other designs as well, any of which are available as a full-size poster or as a T-shirt:
Why have you chosen to participate in the handmade way of life?
