Last week Queen Elizabeth II made a visit to Cork, Ireland. She was greeted with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Some of the flowers were real live flowers from local gardens. Cependant, some of them were lace and crochet roses that were handcrafted by lacemaker Veronica Stuart. (news source)
Looking at this makes me think that you could make any flower bouquet a little bit more special by adding some crochet to it. You could crochet a doily-style bouquet holder. You could crochet a single bold flower to be placed amongst the live flowers. Or you could just crochet a quick bow to tie around the stems of the flowers. That way when the flowers die the recipient has something to hang on to and remember them!
