It’s always fun to see what kind of crochet makes it onto the runway. Sometimes it even inspires our own (lower-budget) couture designs.
I never get tired of seeing what Helen Rodel is doing in crochet art fashion! Her black and white crochet dresses are perfectly accented with her colorful new bobble purses featuring fabulous crochet hook handles!
Sunday was How Weird Street Faire here in San Francisco. This event kicks off the festival season in San Francisco – Haight Street Fair and Union Street Fair and North Beach Festival and Pride and so many other weekend street fair events and parades to follow but it all really starts with this one each summer. And this is the best one to spot amazing DIY fashion including lots of pretty crochet.
Last week I rounded up 30 Coachella crochet outfits that inspired me, but of course that was only the first weekend of a big event, so I wanted to make sure to check back in with all of the blogs and Instagram feeds and find the other great crochet fashion that happened at Coachella. This is what I found.
I’ve never been to Coachella but every year I love to check out the beautiful boho fashion that emerges in the photos from the event, with an eye towards the crochet and lace. Here are some beautiful examples from this year’s event.
I adore the work that fashion design duo NatarGeorgiou creates, making high fashion garments that frequently incorporate crochet elements. I’ve been having a look at their Fall ’15-16 creations, which I had somehow missed earlier in the season, and I’m enjoying several of the beautiful pieces.
Tanja’s Crochet is a handmade shop that sells crochet items. They are exquisitely well-stitched with attention to detail, and I love the simple beauty of the designs. I’m enchanted by the website, which showcases each of the different designs in a creamy white color; it reminds me of the work of Anna Kosturova in this way. But I’m also charmed by Tanja’s Crochet on Instagram, where the same pieces are featured in different color options as well.
