yarn4 Yarn Review: Lion Brand Wool Ease Worsted Weight

I have worked with Lion Brand Wool-Ease Yarn Yarn Review: Lion Brand Wool Ease Worsted Weight yarn a few times in the past few months so I thought it was about time that I did a yarn review!

Los fundamentos de esta Yarn

Wool-Ease is a name that a lot of yarn lovers are familiar with. That’s because Lion Brand has created an entire line of yarn under this name including sportweight, glitter andthick and quick”. The yarn that I’ve used from this line is the worsted weight so that’s all I’m talking about in this review. It is a an eighty percent acrylic, twenty percent wool blend, which makes it an easy-care yarn with some of the feel of wool. It is a four-ply yarn that comes in a three ounce ball that is slightly less than 200 yardas.

Pines Color

This yarn is available in more than fifty different colors so I’m not going to post a color chart here. I will say that I used two different colors. One was Blue Mist, which is a lovely dark blue color that has pink-ish purple undertones. It’s the same color throughout but the undertones make it feel like more than just a one-color yarn. Me gusta. The other color I’ve used is Pines which is a combination of dark blues and greens.

Blue Mist

La sensación del hilado

This is a soft yarn thanks to the high-acrylic content and the plush weight of the yarn. It does, sin embargo, have some of the feel of natural wool. That’s a drawback for me personally because I’m not a fan of that traditionalitchy wool” sentir. I wouldn’t say that this yarn is itchy, de por sí, but it has some of that roughness and fuzzines. Some people love that about a yarn but it’s not so much my thing.

¿Cómo he usado esta Yarn

I am using the Blue Mist to make a new cowl / capelet that’s not ready for show yet. I used the Pines colorway to create the cowl shown above. Desafortunadamente, I wasn’t able to get a good clear picture of the color detail but you can kind of get a sense of it anyway. The yarn is definitely a warm yarn thanks to that wool content so it’s great for items like cowls. Between the two projects, I’ve worked several basic stitches and I found all of them easy enough to work with this yarn. The instructions recommend a J hook for this yarn but I worked in the G-H range without difficulty.

CONCLUSIÓN: This is a good big box yarn especially for people who want a washable yarn with a natural wool feel that is available in a variety of different colors.

Have you used any of the Wool-Ease yarns? Pensamientos?
