Almost two years ago I started a crochet blog project called 50 Years of Crochet History. I loved researching 1930s crochet to kick that off but let it trail away because the research does take a lot of time. However, I think it’s important to curate that history so I’m resuming the project now. I’ll begin where I left off, looking now at Crochet in 1938.
Remember that I recently introduced you to the reader Flo who shared some of her beautiful crochet work with us?
It’s not a new idea; I found a tutorial for patchwork crochet quilts in a vintage crochet magazine.
I want to take a look back at all of the amazing things that were shared in crochet last year. Here were the posts related to vintage / retro crochet.
I’m just loving the image for this vintage crochet dress pattern from the 1970s.
Let’s look at just a little bit more 1975 crochet, this time from a different magazine: Woman’s Day Granny Squares.
Let’s go back a little further in time and take a look at 1965 crochet. Like the others, these images come from an old issue of McCall’s Needlework and Crafts Magazine.
