WIP Wednesday: Black and White Granny

Just a quick update on the only thing I’ve worked on so far in this busy start to 2012. I’ve completed most of the red squares for my 40 Variations on a Granny project and have decided that I’ll be mounting them on a large black and white granny square. I just love the contrast of red against black and white.

To that end, I’ve been working on the large granny square using cheap black and white acrylic (some Lion Brand FUN yarn, some Red Heart Classic and some random in-the-stash stuff). It needs to get a lot bigger to work for the full project but here’s what I’ve got so far:
