I am excited to be participating in this year’s Knitting and Crochet Blog Week,
in which a number of bloggers each tackle the same fiber arts topics on their own blogs so that we can all see the different viewpoints we have on yarn-y things.
Today is Day Three.
The topic:
Yarn Organization!
I am not entirely organized with my yarn stash. Ωστόσο, there are ways in which I am organized. Here are seven exmaples:
1. All of my yarn is stored in one area of my house, a closet in the corner of the living room. I don’t have stray skeins anywhere so the yarn may not be super organized but I do know where to find it.
2. My crochet hooks are in their original containers. I totally confess that these containers are tossed into a plastic bag in complete disorganized fashion. I really ought to get or make myself one of those neat little crochet hook holders that other people use. But I’m okay with how my hooks are for now. They’re in their original plastic packages so they are placed in basic order of size and style and that works for me.
3. My finished projects are hung together with similar projects. For example all of my crochet hooks are on display in a row on my hallway wall. See:

Σημείωση: the two on the left aren’t crocheted but they’ve since been removed from this part of my home!
4. I keep my crochet blog ideas organized using the categories and tags on this blog. I can easily find information about crochet topics I’ve blogged on in the past.
5. All of my crochet books are in one neat stack that is easily accessible and close to my yarn stash.
6. Photos of my crochet work are organized in a single file on my computer.
I can easily access them when I want to show off a project.
I do also upload them to Ravelry and Facebook although not all of my finished projects are on either of those sites.
7. My yarn is loosely organized in plastic bags. This isn’t a great organization system but I do tend to keep “like with like” so I typically know what I have and don’t have too much trouble finding what I want.
Check out how other crocheters and knitters choose to organize their yarn and supplies by reading through the other posts from participants in Knitting and Crochet Blog Week.
