I pretty much always have a large crochet granny square blanket on my hooks lately. The one I worked on most recently was one that I really enjoyed because I decided to use a bunch of yarn favorites that I’d been saving for quite some time.

Today I want to share another crochet book with you: Susan Pinner’s Granny Squares: 20 Crochet Projects With a Vintage Vibe. About Granny Squares Susan Pinner has put together a great collection of ideas for putting a spin on the classic granny square and using that updated motif idea to make a set of terrific crochet projects. The projects are all designed for the contemporary home that gets inspired by classic crochet designs. There are some motif-based projects and there are other projects that are large items based on the basic granny design (such as a crochet stool cover). Sometimes the designs stick to the classic granny stitch look and other times there are details added like the flower-in-the-center approach to a granny square. These little twists and turns put a fun edge on working the classic granny square and also make for great items. I never get tired of granny squares and I don’t think I’ll get tired of Granny Squares: 20 Crochet Projects With a Vintage Vibe either. 3 Favorite Crochet Projects I really love the variety of projects that are featured in this crochet book but if you twisted my arm to pull out my three favorite crochet projects I’d select:
