Although I haven’t been posting them daily, I am still active in wearing and photographing my 365 Ways to Crochet Wear and those photos will still be popping up throughout this site. I recently made a simple crochet necklace that you’ve already seen and have since worn it in three different ways. That’s one of the best things about a long simple necklace – it offers so much variety.
The necklace is a super long crochet chain in blue with a shell stitch in brown. You first saw me wear it like this:
I just looped it around my neck a few times and pulled each loop to a different length.
Then I decided to see what other sculptural, artistic ways I could loop the necklace to wear it with a different outfit, and here’s what I came up with:
I’m not even sure I could recreate that shape if I wanted to. That’s the fun of these long chains (and something that can also be done with skinny crochet scarves) … you can just twist and turn and loop and tie and make these big statement pieces around your neck. I adore that!
I then decided to see if I could put some really curvy twists into the necklace and here’s what I came up with:
