My Crochet Circle Shrug

My newest crochet shrug is actually really simple. I just crocheted a large granny circle.

Then I folded over the top part of it and seamed together the ends to make the arm holes.

(This is similar to taking a large crochet rectangle and folding it over to make the arms of a shrug or sweater, something I’ve done often.)

I thought that I’d go on and add more to it after that but it turned out I didn’t need to.

I just turned the circle upside down so that there was more fabric above the arm holes than below, creating a shrug with a really high neck.

When I wore it, I closed the neck with a shawl pin but I could also see adding a button for closure.

I’m very happy with it.
