Awhile back I was practicing post stitches by making crochet rectangles. Basically for each rectangle I did 40 stitches across, alternating fpdc and bpdc all the way, making ribbed rectangles. (Full info on how I made them here).

I had $1 store yarn in red and blue and I made a bunch of rectangles just thinking that I’d put them together into something at some point.

I had in mind that I’d make a blanket for my mom or my sister, as red and blue are the colors of the University of Arizona basketball team that they’re both fans of.

But when I did eventually put the pieces together they seemed to work better as a thick bath mat than as a blanket so I decided to keep it as that and have enjoyed using this as a plush bath rug in my own place ever since.

That's a great idea. It must feel really cozy when you step on it.
