About this Awesome Crochet Blog Award
Each year there are many people who come up with different types of crochet projects that they share on blogs. I love seeing these because they encourage each of us to stretch our minds about crochet and what we can do with it. Cool projects that are unique from other things going on out there in the crochet world – whether those are new online magazines, special CALs, art projects or anything else – are definitely deserving of recognition!
Abou the Winning Crochet Project
From the website:
“The Crochet Project is a new seasonal online collection of downloadable PDF patterns. The aim of The Crochet Project is to promote beautiful, modern crochet patterns to the online market.”
The downloadable crochet patterns are all related to a theme; the first issue was botanicals. The patterns come from a variety of different designers, helping to support the work of independent designers in our community. The beautiful photography makes the pattern pages look almost like an inspiring online crochet magazine.
The Crochet Project is published twice each year; it is one half of The Yarn Project and the other two seasons are similar collection of knit designs. The blog of The Yarn Project elaborates on the designs, provides crochet and knitting tips and offers high-quality articles about the crafts.

This project is the brainchild of Joanne Scrace (of Not So Granny) and Kat Goldin (of Slugs on the Refrigerator). I wasn’t too familiar with these crafty blogs before this year but I’m happy to recognize them, along with The Crochet Project, this year!
