About this Awesome Crochet Blog Award
It’s always helpful when a blog rounds up the best crochet patterns around a specific theme. This allows us to get inspiration about different types of projects we might want to try. It provides us with variations on the theme so we can see what we most want to work on ourselves. And of course it links to the free crochet patterns for us to use. This is worth recognizing.
Why the Winning Blog Won
Stitch and Unwind regularly does crochet pattern roundups linking to various free crochet patterns from their network. What I love most is their themes, some of which are common themes that many of us are interested in working (such as round ripple afghan patterns) and others that are truly unique and inspirational (such as tribal crochet patterns). Each post includes a personable introduction to the theme. The links to the free crochet patterns are sometimes sorted by subcategories within the theme. Well-done!
This Blog Previously Won …
This is a fairly new crochet blog. It hasn’t won a crochet blog award in the past but I’m happy to be able to share the great work they’re doing here this year!
Also About This Great Crochet Blog
Stitch and Unwind is the official blog for AllFreeKnitting.com, AllFreeCrochet.com, andAllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns.com so it’s a multicraftual blog but it tends to emphasize crochet. Some of the other things that I enjoy about this crochet blog include:
- Links to terrific giveaways
- Solid guest posts, such as this one on yarnbombing for a cause
- Crochet tips and other helpful information
- Steady, daily posts for consistent information and inspiration
Although it didn’t affect my choice of the award in any way I want to say thanks again to the Stitch and Unwind blog for featuring my guest posts last year on crochet health and creativity in crochet.
