Earlier this year I announced that I am working on a new book of crochet exercises designed to help people heal and grow. The book, called Hook to Heal, has received great early support. I am excited about its progress. However, I feel like it has a little more to go before it’s ready for release. Originally slated for an October release, it’s now been pushed back to release at the start of the year.
Here is the update email that I sent to my Indiegogo supporters yesterday about this:
I hope that the past few months since my last update have been treating you well.
I am writing today to give you a progress update on the release of my newest book, Hook to Heal. I had originally intended to have the book ready for release in October. However, at the time that I made that plan, I did not know that I would be accepted to an intensive grad school program that I’ve since started. As a result of that change, the release date of the book has been pushed back slightly.
My grad school program is in Integral Counseling Psychology, a program that blends many different types of psychology / counseling with Eastern spirituality. I am learning so many new rich things that I hope to integrate into my work with crochet healing in so many new ways. You can see a blog post I did on this here.
The writing of Hook to Heal has been progressing well. I could probably get it released ASAP if I pushed. However, I really want this book to be the best book that it can possibly be. To do that, I believe that it’s better to take a few more months to polish it up before I release it. This will allow me to incorporate some of the new material I’m working with in school as well as to improve the visual layout of the book. As such, I have decided to push the release date back. Hook to Heal will be released by the end of January 2014, with a possible earlier digital release coming at the end of this year.
I hope that everyone understands that I have struggled with this decision and determined that it’s the best thing for the product and therefore, I hope, the best thing for the readers of this book. I greatly appreciate everyone’s support in helping this project come to life. Thank you so much.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
In hooks and health,
I just wanted to share that information with my readers here, as I know that there are supporters interested in the book who were Indiegogo funders and therefore didn’t get that email yesterday. Thanks to all who have supported me in any way through this journey. I look forward to bringing you a great new book in a few months.
