It is almost time for the annual Knit and Crochet Blog Week when bloggers from around the world all write on the same topics for an entire week. It’s a great way for bloggers to get inspiration for their daily posts. More than that, it’s a great way for crochet lovers to learn about different things in crochet! I’ve participated in Crochet Blog Week the past two years and will most likely participate again this year although I haven’t fully committed myself to it since I’m still trying to work out my April editorial calendar to fit in with recent exciting changes in my life.
What is Knit and Crochet Blog Week?
Knit and Crochet Blog Week is hosted by Eskimimi Makes who explains it this way:
“Once a year knitters and crocheters that blog are invited from all over the world to take part in a community blog week in which they are presented with a number of topics to blog about over the period of seven days. The topics are very flexible and can be interpreted in many ways, so there is a good deal of variety in the posts that this inspires, which then provide wonderful reading for anyone who enjoys reading the blogs that it inspires.”
Learn all about the details and how to join in from Eskimimi Makes. As you can see from the logos in this post, this year’s blog week is April 22nd t0 28th.
2013 Twist: The House Of …
This year participating bloggers can choose from one of four animal “houses” to theme their weekly posts around. You can choose from bee, manatee, monkey or peacock – or choose a combination of those, which is what I’ll probably do if I do participate this year! Learn more about this twist and also what the post topics are for this year from this post.
Looking Forward To: Crochet Infographics!
One of the post suggestions for this year is to do an infographic. There are so few people doing these visual information posts in the craft industry and it’s something I really, really want to see more of since it’s so prevalent/ popular in tech and several other blogging niches so I’m really hoping to see people run with this one for Crochet Blog Week this year!
