Drumroll please … The winner of the 2012 award for the blog with the best free crochet patterns is:
* Sarah of Repeat Crafter Me *
Best Free Crochet Patterns Award
Today’s awesome crochet blogger award is for the crochet blog that offers the best free patterns. One of the great things about crochet is that it is a craft that can be done on almost any budget. If you can afford expensive yarns and the purchase of patterns then there are plenty to choose from but there are also good inexpensive yarns and great free patterns. Blogs that offer original free patterns provide crocheters with a great service.
About The Winner
Sarah of Repeat Crafter Me is a multi-craftual Stay at Home Mom who is constantly coming up with new designs and craft ideas. She shares a diverse range of different crafts on her blog including regularly sharing her own original free crochet patterns. Sarah has experience as a graphic designer which is evident in the little touches on her own blog.
3 Reasons The Winner Won
This was another crochet blog award that was tough to narrow down to just one winner since there are so many great crochet blogs out there offering good free patterns. Ultimately I chose Repeat Crafter Me because:
- Sarah’s patterns are geared towards kids but have options for adults. There is definitely a whimsical child feel to many of her designs, such as her Gingerbread Hat with Matching Leggings. However, she writes her patterns for all different sizes usually from baby to adult so it is possible to make them for any age.
- Sarah’s patterns are well-organized. They are clearly written. All of the information that you need is right there in front of you. There are photos that supplement the text instructions. There are also sometimes video pattern instructions accompanying the written instructions.
- Her Pirate Granny Squares patterns are super adorable. So much so that they deserve their own bullet point.
