Crochet Jewelry Ideas for Christmas Including 10 Free Crochet Patterns

I recently did one of my weekly 2011 crochet “look back” posts that referenced last year’s article showing 7 luxury crochet jewelry items that I was loving. Today I’ll take you back to those designers to see what they’re offering in high-end crochet jewelry this year in case you want to add it to your holiday wish list. I’ll also share the links to 10 free crochet jewelry patterns that you could use to make your own gifts this year.

Update on Luxury Crochet Jewelry

Here’s a look at the seven crochet jewelry makers featured last year and what they’re offering in 2012:

1. St. Erasmus Crochet Jewelry

Pieter Louis Erasmus is a jewelry designer who works with crochet artisans in New Delhi who work with a special kind of thread called zari. The company’s Facebook page describes itself as: “a luxury jewelry label steeped in cross cultural inspiration from the textures of the African landscape, edgy London, fashionable and stylish Paris and exotic India.” I’m currently loving the Obama necklace and the zari pearl cuff:

2. Arielle de Pinto

This crochet designer makes high-end jewelry, cool crochet shoes and other unique items. Right now from the jewelry section of the shop I’m loving her “special and limited edition series of quartz crystals grown directly into and through Arielle de Pinto jewelry” to create a jewel encased in crochet:

3. Ashley Stevens

This Etsy store owner creates hand knit and crocheted jewelry then casts it in silver for a unique design. I’m adoring her stretched crochet half crescent earrings and her airy crochet pendant necklace:

4. Moro Bridal

I’ve featured a lot of wedding crochet this year so I figured I’d show off this company’s bridal crochet necklace and matching earrings, decorated with Swarovski crystals:

A couple of the jewelry makers profiled don’t have any new crochet this year that I can find. I was loving the crochet globe earrings from Marcia Moran last year but it doesn’t look like there’s anything new in crochet there although there is a lot of other beautiful jewelry. Same with the Carlyn Galerie where I found a beautiful crochet freshwater pearl bracelet last year and Amazon’s Kooljewelry where I had spotted the beautiful white gold crochet necklace in 2011.

More Luxury Crochet Jewelry

Here are a few other classy crochet jewelry items you might want to purchase or just get inspired by:

1. Vintage Gold Crochet Cuff

Etsy’s WhiteFly takes vintage lace and casts in it in real gold to create this beautiful crochet cuff bracelet; also available in silver. At the moment this is the most expensive crochet jewelry item for sale on Etsy.

2. Lapis Lazuli Crochet Necklace

Etsy’s lenkamuchnik sells several beautiful pieces of wire crochet jewelry including this beautiful necklace adorned with blue lapis lazuli.

3. Pearl Crochet Necklace

Etsy’s Pearlweaver explains that this was made with “over 8500 1.5 mm pearls woven into a 60″ kumihimo strand then croceted into a 16″ strand.” Wow!

4. Freeform Fiber Necklace

Etsy’s saraaires makes beautiful fiber art accessories including this stunning crochet statement necklace.

5. Beaded Statement Necklace

Etsy’s wildbraidart created this one of a kind crochet bib necklace made with silver and adorned with beading.
