Today’s crochet quote celebrates the joy that you find at a fiber festival. I so agree based on my experience at the Tucson Wool Festival last fall. The quote comes from Vickie Stiefel and Lisa Souza’s book 10 Secrets of the LaidBack Knitters: A Guide to Holistic Knitting, Yarn, and Life.
“Sheep and llama and goats. Fried dough, lamb kebabs, and burgers. Silke skeins and merino fleeces and cashmere roving. Hand-dyes, spinning wheels, drum carders. Contests, sheepherding trials, the blare of the PA, blue ribbons, 4H. And acres and acres of yarn. All that and more can be found at fiber festivals, not to mention hugs and babies and laughter and community. A visual, auditory, and tactile feast, fiber fests are not-to-be-missed events for anyone with a love of knitting, crochet, spinning, and / or weaving.”
