Crochet Quote: The gift of crochet

Today’s crochet quote comes from an old crochet book by Doris Smith called Encyclopedia of 300 Crochet Patterns, Stitches, and Designs.

“Crocheting items for yourself and for others is a rewarding experience. A gift that you’ve crocheted yourself is a gift from the heart. Your work may even become an heirloom that will be handed down from generation to generation.”

I agree that crochet gifts are special and want to point out that this quote includes in that the gift of crocheting for yourself. Do you consider it a gift to yourself when you crochet items to keep?
