Today’s Etsy crochet feature is an amazing quilt-style crochet blanket with a flower basket decoration. It’s a king-size blanket with a stunning pattern. It’s made and sold by kaytlin1390, priced at $2000.
What do you think about this blanket’s price? I can totally understand why it’s priced that way since it must have taken forever to crochet it but I wouldn’t pay that much for a blanket personally.
undergroundcrafter Such a great response!! You've definitely identified the target customer perfectly. I have to wonder, though ... is that kind of customer on Etsy? I can certainly see the quilt being priced like that in some of the design stores in my area but I wonder if the same buyers are active on handmade sites. I hope they are! But I wonder.

That's sort of a trick question, isn't it? :) I imagine that the customer for this quilt is someone who has a decent amount of disposable income, doesn't want to crochet their own hexagon quilt, likes this style of classic quilt, and has a king sized bed. The pricing seems to be comparable to what I've seen on Etsy for quilts vs. crochet. Quilters have managed to shift the perception of their work from "craft" to "art," so I think this seller is attempting to do the same.
