Today’s Etsy crochet highlight is something I’ve chosen because it’s a technique I’m interested in exploring more myself which is the option of adding crochet to other fabric to create finished items. I don’t really sew (I kind of hate it) but I do like the combination of fabric and crochet so we’ll see where it goes. These are fabric and crochet sachets from luluhopping1983.

I recently got the Sharp Crochet Hook, which I want to try out to see if that’s a good way to do this type of stuff. Has anyone tried it yet?

I have seen some great stuff done in "combo" work. Suede vests and crochet. Lots more. I like sachets .Like yourself don't care to sew. Be honest do you have room for one more craft in your home??? my yarn would take over my house if I let it..Picture Kudzu made of assorted fibers!LOL As for the sharp hook, no have not got my hands on it yet...Tuscaloosa lost its Hobby-Lobby during the april 27,2011 i have no place to pick up my toys. we have 1 yarn shop and they only cater to knitters (in insult ladys) In truth I have PLENTY to keep me busy...

@65mary65 I actually order most of my yarn and crochet stuff online. We don't have the big stores here. I love the small local yarn stores (we're lucky enough to have 7+) but I tend to be an online shopper. I think the Sharp Crochet Hook is only available online anyway, although I may be wrong about that.

As for my home, crochet has completely taken it over. It almost looks like an Olek art exhibit. :) Someday I'd like to have a separate art studio somewhere but it's not in the budget right now.

I can sew, but prefer crochet because I do not have to depend on a machine to do the work for me. I used to trade crocheted items with my friends who sewed things for me. Try crocheting edging on a fleece blanket, and you don't need to do any sewing. :)
