Crochet Quote: No Plan

Today’s crochet quote comes from the vintage freeform crochet book that I reviewed last week. Creative Crochet by Nicki Hitz Edson and Arlene Stammel is a fun book and I enjoyed this quote from the intro, which highlights the free spirit of freeform crochet.

“There’s no need to determine exactly how a piece is going to look before you begin; it grows as you go along, adding to itself. You can crochet in any direction, up, down or sideways, and one stitch, design, stripe, or shape leads to another. If you like having more control, however, you can plan design first with a drawing.”

Are you open to crocheting with no plan in mind or do you like to plan it out and follow a pattern?
