Crochet Quote: Crochet resurgence

The Jackson Sun recently ran an article about the resurgence in popularity of what they called the “lost art” of crocheting. Here’s a quote from the article, attributed to Holley Wood, secretary of the Continuing Education and Workforce Department at Jackson State Community College and an active crocheter.

“Just a hook, yarn and some time are required to make clothing and blankets, and what is a hobby for some can be a source of income for others. No matter the purpose, crocheting seems to be experiencing a reawakening in people young and old”.

Older people have told me that this resurgence in crochet popularity comes back around every twenty years or so. Have you seen that trend? How long do you think it’ll stick this time?
